Gate of Life Church Ministry brought hope and dignity to residents of Plot 89 in Cosmo City on Saturday by donating clothes and sharing a light lunch with community members.
The church organised a community outreach programme aimed at supporting vulnerable families through clothing donations, prayer sessions, and community engagement. The initiative forms part of the church’s ongoing mission to uplift disadvantaged communities and provide both spiritual and social support.
Church elder Pastor Basetsana Gahie said the outreach programme focuses on bringing meaningful support to communities in need.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to provide spiritual and social support to our people. Our aim is to reach more communities in different cities and help build strong and responsible communities,” said Gahie.

She added that this was not the first time the church had reached out to Cosmo City, as they have previously conducted similar outreach programmes in the area.
Community forum team member Bonisiwe Mulaudzi welcomed the initiative and praised the ministry for its contribution to the community.
“We appreciate their kind gesture and their presence in our community. We welcome educational programmes, church services, and donations that will positively impact our residents,” said Mulaudzi.
She also encouraged the church to extend support to youth programmes and the local community library, noting that unemployment continues to affect many families and reduces their ability to meet basic needs such as clothing and food.
Community member Makhavho Khathutshelo expressed gratitude for the support, saying many families are struggling due to unemployment and rising living costs.
“This programme makes a difference in our community. Many families are led by single parents and children, and it is difficult to buy clothes and provide food for families,” she said.

Pastor Gahie said the church plans to expand its outreach programmes in the future, including tailoring initiatives and larger donation drives to support more people.
“Our aim is to make a difference with the little we have. In the future, we hope to create transformative change and reach more communities,” she added.
She also highlighted that the church offers counselling and spiritual support to community members in need, with priority given to vulnerable individuals after proper assessment.
Community members seeking counselling or support can contact the church through their WhatsApp number available on their Facebook page or visit the church at 191 Bram Fischer Avenue, Randburg.
The church has also welcomed partnerships and donations of non-perishable food, clothing, and financial support to help meet urgent community needs.
